Zayna’s Garden is a personal weblog about…well, I suppose it’s about whatever I write about.
Sometimes I’ll write about parenting my 19 and 12 year old offspring, sometimes about homeschooling my youngest, sometimes a poem, sometimes not so humble opinion pieces and sometimes I’ll just pass along cute internet time wasters.

My daughters name is Zayna, she’s 13…. how did your parents pick this name for you? We have never met another and I think it’s great that there is another one out there!
I know the struggles that she has with her name in her daily life, did you have the same growing up? If you have time, I would love to hear some of your experiences and share them with my Zayna.

Actually Zayna is not my real name. It’s a handle I made up about 14 years ago for an on-line role playing game. I just thought it sounded cool. Sorry to disappoint.
But I do think it’s a lovely name in and of itself and I think your daughter is very fortunate to have it. Though at 13 it might not thrill her, I’m sure when she’s older she’ll appreciate having such a rare and interesting name.
