Well the Book Binge started 5 whole days ago and so far I’ve managed to read about 7 chapters of my first book.
How sad is that?
What’s worse is that they’re young adult fiction books and are usually a pretty quick read for me. But I just haven’t had the time.
I hope others are doing better than I am.
I don’t even participate, because I’m an embarrassingly slow reader. Very thorough — I retain what I read — but still … I can’t hold a candle to MaryP.
Lately she’s been toying with one of our neighbours, who started lending her books. “Try this — we loved it,” they’ll say. And MaryP will return the book before dinner and tell them what she thought.
The neighbours are beginning to feel inadequate.

I doubt there are many who could hold a candle to MaryP. I don’t think I’ve ever met as voracious a reader as she.
